Alice Yarrington

Alice Burnly Barton Yarrington,
Seneca, 87, died Wednesday, April
18, 2007 at the Nemaha Valley
Community Hospital, Seneca.

She was born June 25, 1919 in San
Francisco, California the daughter
of John William Anderton and Isabel
Richardson. She attended Jefferson
High School in San Francisco,
California through the eleventh
grade.

She was married to Harvey Barton in
San Francisco on September 23, 1937.
He preceded her in death April 19,
1976. She had lived in Seneca for
the past 25 years, having moved here
from Kansas City.

Mrs. Yarrington was a homemaker. She
was a member of the New Hope Baptist
Church, Seneca.

She is survived by two daughters,
Helen Louise Shelly, rural Hiawatha
and Catherine Boehm, rural Seneca;
eight grandchildren; and eight great
grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by two sons, William Posey
Barton, October 22, 1996 and John
Mansfield Barton, February 15, 1940;
and a brother, John William
Anderton, Jr.

Funeral services will be Saturday,
April 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the New
Hope Baptist Church, Seneca. Pastor

Curtis Knapp will preside. Casket
bearers will be Scott
Boehm, Russ Deters, Stephen Boehm,
Chris Shelly, and Bill Herrmann.
Burial will be in the Seneca
Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be left
to the New Hope Baptist Church,
Seneca and left in care of the
funeral home. Popkess Mortuary,
Seneca is in charge of arrangements.
