Benola Bieri passed away at Newport Beach, California on January 2, 2012 at the age of 86 years and 25 days.
Benola Elaine Leuthold, daughter of Marie Bertha (Locher) Leuthold and Benjamin E. Leuthold was born December 8, 1925 at Bern Kansas. She grew up and was educated at Bern. She resided and raised her family at Seneca, Kansas.
In 1970, she moved and was employed in Hiawatha, Kansas. Desiring to be close to her sons, she moved to Menlo Park, California in 1978, returning to her native home of Bern in 1980.
She was united in marriage with Harold E. Anderson on October 11, 1944. To this union were born three sons and a daughter. On December 19, 1980 she was united in marriage to Raymond Bieri. They were divorced.
Benola was a loving mother and wife, a helpful neighbor and a loyal friend. Her devotion to her family and love for the home were shared in a generous hospitality to all. Honesty and sincerity were exemplified in her daily living. The dreams of her sons and their aspirations were her life plan and her life thread.
Benola Anderson Bieri was preceded in death by one brother, Benjamin Leuthold, one stillborn son, Michael and a stillborn daughter, Marcia Anderson. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Mark E. Anderson of Newport Beach, California and Thaine C. Anderson and his wife Barbara of Escondido, California, and two step-grandchildren, Sarah Paltiel of Concord, California and Stephen and his family of Montclair, California, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church near Bern. A visitation will be held Saturday evening January 14, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home or the Bern Apostolic Christian Church sent in care of the funeal home.
