Gary Sawyer

G ary L. Sawyer, 74 of Sabetha died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Sabetha Manor.

Gary was born in Horton, Kansas on May 18, 1941 the son of Neal L. Sawyer and Maxine (Kimberlin) Sawyer. He attended the Fairview schools until the 8 ^th grade when he attended and graduated from Sabetha High School. Gary attended the United Church of Christ in Fairview.

Gary was united in marriage to Lois Ashton at the United Church of Christ in Fairview, Kansas on May 18, 2012. He worked for his uncle at his optometrist business, grounding eye glass lenses.

Gary enjoyed reading his whole life. He also received his Eagle Scout from Troop #77 of Sabetha.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Lois (Ashton) Sawyer of Sabetha; a sister, Kay Cook; a daughter, Kristi Leech of McPherson, Kansas; two sons, Tom Sawyer and Thane Sawyer; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two nieces.

Memorial services will be held at the Fairview United Church of Christ on Saturday, July, 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Family will greet friends between 10:00-10:30 a.m. at the church.
