Geraldine Ann Baker Freeman Rogers, 64, of Topeka died Friday, December 2, 2011 at Plaza West Nursing Home in Topeka. She was born on June 26, 1947 the daughter of William Baker and Cecelia (Sunnenberg) Baker/ Mary Jurgensmeier at Seneca, Kansas. She grew up in the Fairview area and attended school in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School. She was united in marriage to Dewey A. Freeman on May 28, 1968 at the St. Augustine’s Catholic Church rural Sabetha. Three children were born to this union. They lived in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. She was a beloved mother to her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Cecelia Baker; brothers, William Baker, Joseph Baker and Lawrence Baker; father, Leo Jurgensmeier; a Brother-in-law, Don KirkPatrick. She is survived by her mother, Mary Jurgensmeier of St. Paul, Kansas; a daughter, Angela Boon and her husband, Ernest of Tacoma, Washington; two sons, Randy Allen Freeman and his wife, So Young of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Anthony Ray Freeman and his wife, Stephanie of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; three brothers, twin brother, Gerald Baker and his wife, Delores of Topeka, Kansas and Leo Baker and his wife, Grace of Wetmore, Kansas, Patrick Baker and his wife, LeAnna of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters Mary Schroger and her husband, Phil of Marschall, Illinois and Marcella Kirkpatrick of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and seven grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the St. Augustine’s Catholic Church south of Sabetha. A visitation will be Monday evening 5:30 to 6:30 with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be made in the St. Augustine’s Church Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to a fund yet to be designated by the family sent in care of Popkess Mortuary 823 Virginia Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
