Geraldine Mishler

Geraldine Kaye "Jarry" Mishler, 68, of Sabetha, Kansas died October 13, 2008 at St. Francis Health Center in Topeka, Kansas.


She was born on January 18, 1940 at Sabetha the daughter of Roy McKee and Susie McKenzie McKee. She was a lifelong resident of Sabetha and wintered the last three years in Arizona.


She was a 1958 graduate of Sabetha High School. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #126 of Sabetha, Sabetha Business and Professional Women, and the Sabetha Community Hospital Board. She was a past community leader for the Busy Jayhawkers 4-H Club.


She worked for 47 years in banking. She was a vice president for Farmers State Bank and United Bank and Trust in Sabetha, retiring in 2005.


She married Robert L. Mishler on January 31, 1959 at Sabetha. He survives of the home. Other survivors include two sons and their families, John, Linda, Katey and Karley Mishler of Buhler, Kansas and Matt, Amy and Lauren Mishler of Charlotte, North Carolina; a sister, Thelma Colleen Hartter of Sabetha; a brother, Otis McKee of Stanbury, Missouri and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John McKee, Bruce McKee and George Hobart McKee; two sisters, Irene Cramer and Blanche Aylersworth.


Funeral service will be Thursday, October 16, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the NorthRidge Church in Sabetha. A family visitation will be Wednesday evening 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sabetha Hospital or the Caring Neighbors Cancer Fund sent in care of the funeral home.
