Gladys Gearhart

G ladys Lucile Gearhart, 85, of Sabetha, Kansas passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Sabetha Community Hospital.
She was born October 13, 1929 in Edna, Texas, the daughter of Graham and Helan (Wilson) Hessong.
She married Glen Gearhart on October 12, 1953 after courting for three weeks. They were married for 61 years. After 5 years of marriage they moved to Amarillo, Texas where they lived for 43 years. In 2008 they moved to Sabetha, Kansas to be closer to their family.
She was a resident at the Apostolic Christian Home for four years and loved the people who provided her care. She was a feisty little thing.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jimmy Hessong, a sister, Helen Singleton, and her grandson, Ryan Broxterman. Survivors include her sons, Roger (Tracye) Gearhart of Midland, TX, and Kenneth Gearhart of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Susan (Kevin) Broxterman of Sabetha, KS; her brothers, Bob Hessong of Edna, TX, and Don Hessong of Pettus, TX; a sister, Betty Bolander of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service is Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Albany Cemetery.
