Gregory Gee

Gregory Allen Gee, 57, Pawnee City, Nebraska died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at the Pawnee Manor in Pawnee City with family by his side.

He was born November 3, 1950 at Marysville the son of Harold and Edna McKee Gee. He graduated from Summerfield High School in 1968 and then attended North Central Kansas Vocational College to train as an electrician. After college he worked as an industrial electrician at power plants. He began a passion and career as a truck driver driving for Harlan Cameron and eventually forming his own trucking company in 1982. He later worked for Sharp Services, St. Joseph, Missouri as a maintenance supervisor and was also a self employed heavy equipment operator.

He married Terri Bowhay May 21, 1976. They later divorced.
He is survived by his mother, Edna Gee, Marysville; a daughter Whitney Gee, Manhattan; two brothers, Steve and wife Debbie, Rossville and Mike and wife Ruth Ann, Home; two sisters, Jennifer Gee, Marysville and Kristyn Hain and husband Jack, Marysville; and a sister-in-law Jeanne Gee, Home. He was preceded in death by his sons, Joshua Bowhay and Seth Gee; his father, Harold Gee; and a brother Stuart Gee.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 19, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Liberty, Nebraska. Services will be conducted by Jon Palmquist, Beatrice. Casket bearers will be Mike Meyer, Emmett Ghyra, Paul Heath, Mark Cameron, Dennis Ghyra, and Lynn Curtis. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. He will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17 at the Landreth-Popkess Funeral Home, Axtell. A visitation will be Thursday, September 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Greg Gee Memorial Fund and sent in care of the funeral home.
