James Wilbur Sarver, 77 of Salina, KS died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Regional Health Center in Salina.
James was born January 5, 1930 in Axtell, KS the son of Oren Sarver and Irene Westerhausen Sarver. James was one of four children born to Oren and Irene. He graduated from Axtell, High School in 1948.
After high school he entered the US Air Force in early 1950 until 1954. James had operated a Tire Store in Denver many years and later worked as a foreman at Cessna in Wichita, KS where he retired in the early 1990's. After his retirement he and his wife Betty moved to Panama City, FL for approx. five years.
James was a member of the Shriners and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of a clown unit in both Denver and Wichita. He was a member of the R.R. Hendricks American Legion Post #214 of Axtell, KS.
He is preceded in death by his former wife Betty and a brother Harold Sarver.
He has left to mourn a daughter Carole Anne Sarver of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and a step daughter, DeAnn Holloway of Rocklin, California; a brother Gerald W. Sarver of North Vernon, Indiana; sister Eleanor Sarver Duke of Panama City, and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Jimmy.
Graveside services were Monday, February 19th, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Axtell, KS. A memorial may be left to the United Methodist Church in Axtell, KS and may be sent in care of the Landreth-Popkess Funeral Home, Axtell, KS.
