Linda I. Moore, 79, of Sabetha, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Sabetha.
Linda was born on December 31, 1944, to Alfred Moore, Sr. and Lucille (Hayes) Moore in Phoenix, Arizona. Linda grew up in Phoenix, Sidney, Nebraska, and Sabetha. She graduated from Sabetha High School in 1962.
After graduation, Linda worked at Nek-Cap, Inc. Head Start in Seneca, Kansas. Then, she worked for the State of Kansas as a youth counselor. Later, she transferred to Aurora, Colorado where she continued her work as a youth counselor. In 2007, Linda returned to Sabetha where she worked at Keim Transportation and helped care for her mother. Linda returned to Aurora, Colorado where she worked for a mailing company, Imagineer, and she also became a licensed Deacon serving many years at the Assemblies of God in Christ church in Aurora, Colorado. After her retirement, Linda served the Aurora community through her countless hours of community service.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Keith Moore.
Linda is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Love of Sabetha and Diana Shull of Hiawatha, Kansas; her siblings, Alfred Moore, Jr. of Sabetha, Frances E. (Brian) Chandler of Sabetha, Lisa (Don) McDade of Phoenix, Oscar (Barbara) Stevenson of Phoenix, and David (Marcia) Stevenson of Phoenix; and her granddaughter, Jessica Moore.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. Memorial contributions are suggested to Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice of Sabetha sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, Kansas 66534.
