Lonny Gutknecht

L onny R. Gutknecht, 60, of Valley Falls, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Midland Hospice in Topeka.

Lonny was born March 18, 1959 in Sabetha, Kansas the son of Max and Annie (Combs) Gutknecht. He attended Sabetha schools and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1978. After high school Lonny joined the Army National Guard. Lonny loved listening to the radio and enjoyed country music.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Kenneth Gutknecht.

Lonny is survived by his son, Jonathan (Alycea) Gutknecht of Basehor, Kansas; his siblings, Bill (Susan) Gutknecht of Idaho, Linda (Stephen) Landry of California, Dale (Mary) Gutknecht of Bern, Donald (Judi) Gutknecht of Louisiana, Lois (Bob) Drury of Lawrence, Hugh Gutknecht of California, Connie (Eric) Gish of North Carolina, Wanda Stokley of Nevada, Samuel Gutknecht and Sarah (Kevin) Wiltz both of Sabetha; his grandchildren, J.J. and Daniel Gutknecht, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Valley Health Care Center in Valley Falls, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Mental Health or Elara Caring Hospice, sent in care of Popkess Mortuary, 823 Virginia Street, Sabetha, KS 66534.
