Malinda Feek

Malinda Beth Boyd Feek was born on April 4, 1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Alvin E. Boyd and Edith P. Goode Boyd Gary. She grew up in the Big Spring area and graduated from Borden High School in Gail, Texas in 1962. She was united in marriage to Billy Wayne Hamil in May of 1962. To this union was born two daughters, Debra Lynn and Pamela Denese. Malinda and Billy Wayne were later divorced. She later married Donald Feek. Malinda moved to Kansas in December of 1971. She worked for Gibson's in Fort Scott, Kansas until 1975 at which time she moved to Sabetha. When the Sabetha Manor Nursing Home was built she went to work there, where she worked as a cook until June of 2008. She was a member of Bowling Teams over the past years. Malinda was a long time member of the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Hiawatha, Kansas.


Malinda died on September 1, 2008 at her mother's home in Sabetha at the age of 64. She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Boyd; four brothers, Same Rutlin Boyd, David Dean Boyd, Jackie Lynn Boyd and John Gary. She is survived by her husband, Donald Feek of Sabetha; her mother, Edith P. Gary of Sabetha; two daughters, Debra Lynn Conaway and her husband, Gregg of St. Joseph, Missouri and Pamela Denese Jackman of Sabetha; a adopted daughter, Stephanie Knudson or Horton, Kansas; four brothers, Skipper Boyd and his wife, Tonya, Marvin Boyd and his wife, Shirley, Martin Boyd all of Big Spring, Texas and Billy Ray Gary of Conroe, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Dana Lee Armstrong of Kirksville, Missouri, Phillip Jon Conaway of Sabetha, Kelly NeCole Plattner of Sabetha and Jamie Renae Jackman of Sabetha; two great grandsons, Crimson Lee Hopper and Tratton Michael Hopper.


Funeral services will be Friday, September 5, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Hiawatha, Kansas. A family visitation will be Thursday evening 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha. The interment will be in the Sabetha Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Basic Cancer research of Kansas State University sent in care of the funeral home.
