Mark A Wells, age 49, died at his home on Monday, September 22, 2008, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mark was born July 9, 1959, in the town of Sidney, Nebraska, to Peggy D. Wells and the late Lee A. Wells. He attended Apache Grade School in Overland Park. In 1975, Mark attended Kansas Neurological Institute to complete his High School education
On May 24, 1990, Mark moved to Sabetha where he received Vocational and Residential services through the Nemaha County Training Center. Mark worked for a while at the Apostolic Christian Home bussing tables.
Mark attended the Church of the Brethren. In life Mark enjoyed listening, watching, and collecting all kinds of music and movies. His favorites were Elvis, Dean Martin, Batman, the Incredible Hulk, and westerns. Other enjoyments in Mark's life was meeting and socializing with other people, shopping, and going to church.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Lee, his step-brother Robert, grandparents Lois and James Morris and Frank and Mary Wells. Mark is survived by his mother Peggy, step-mother Eileen McKnight; his brothers, Michael, Danny, Steven, and James. He is survived by his guardian and close friend, David Mishler and his wife Cheryl. Mark is also survived by his roommate and friend, Jan Ashmore. He is further survived by nieces, nephew, and many friends.
Funeral services for Mark A. Wells will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, September 26, at the Church of the Brethren in Sabetha. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Tonganoxie. Relative and friends are welcome at the Popkess Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A memorial fund has been established in Mark's name through NCTC, donations can be sent to Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha.
