Marvin Duane Ice, 78, Centralia died Monday, April 30, 2007 at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, Seneca.
Marvin was born December 9, 1928 the son of Duane Albert Ice and Ruth Kay Bean Ice at Centralia, KS. Marvin graduated from the Centralia High School in 1947. He married Anna Mae Quinlan in Centralia on Feb. 12, 1950.
Marvin was a Veteran of the US Air Force and was honorably Discharged on June 30, 1960.
Marvin was a member of the United Methodist Church at Centralia, KS; Seneca Masonic Lodge #39 in Seneca, KS, The NEMAR Shrine Club and the Arab Shrine Temple in Topeka, KS.
Survivors of Marvin are his wife, Anna Mae of the home; a son, Dennis Duane Ice and his wife Elaine, Meridan; a daughter, Linda Kay Brooks and husband Danny, Wamego; a nephew, Deland Cooper and his wife Glenda, Mt. Home, Arkansas; and four grandchildren, Rustin Brooks, Tabatha Brooks, Heather Ice, and Jared Ice.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Centralia. Rev. Deborah Hanes-Nelson will conduct the services. Janet Kramer will be organist and Owen Zinke will sing. Casket bearers are J.B. Holland, Galen Steinlage, Alan Myers, John Long, Roger Ploeger and Kenneth Feldkamp. Honorary Casket bearers are Wayne Byers, Robert Lee, Paul Strathman, Rick Weeks, Neil West and Gary Wallace. A visitation will be Wednesday, May 2 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Hayes-Popkess Funeral Home in Centralia. Burial will be in the Centralia Cemetery with full military honors provided by a honor guard detail from Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE and by the Armstrong Moyer American Legion Post #216. Memorial contributions may be left to the Centralia United Methodist Church, Centralia EMT's or the Armstrong-Moyer American Legion Post, Centralia.
