Mayme Kerney

M ayme E. Kerney, 77, of Seneca, KS passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018.
Mayme was born May 28, 1940 in Frankfort, KS the daughter of Peter and Mayme (Valberg) Allen.  She attended school in Frankfort and graduated from Frankfort High School.  Mayme was united in marriage to George Dowd, to this union were born five children.  She worked at various jobs in Blue Rapids, KS over the years.  Mayme enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and spending quality time with her grandchildren.

Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Dowd (2000); a daughter, Deborah Dittemore (2013); infant grandson, Nathan Dowd; her two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her son, George Dowd of Vermillion, KS; two daughters, Elizabeth Geniuk of Seneca, KS and Shirley Hogan of Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law, Kathy Krunze of Waterville, KS; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
