Phyllis Pendleton Molineux, 96, of Sabetha, Kansas died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha.
Phyllis was born on January 28, 1915 at Waterville, Kansas. She was the third daughter of George M. and Helen (Chaffee) Pendleton. She attended grade school in Waterville. She moved with her family to Seneca in 1927, and graduated from the Seneca public high school in 1932. She attended Emporia Teachers College.
Phyllis was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientists, in Boston, Massachusetts. She taught in rural schools in Nemaha county for five years.
She was united in marriage to Morris Molineux on April 20, 1938 in Seneca, Kansas. They farmed in Nemaha and Jackson counties for many years. When they retired from the farm in 1973, they moved to
Wetmore, Kansas. In 1995 they moved to the Apostolic Christian Retirement Village in Sabetha.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris in December 18, 2007; two sisters, Wilma Beryl Gorrell and Helen B. Follett; one brother, Richard Andrew Pendleton. She is survived by three nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Apartment North Village Dining Room in Sabetha. Inurnment will be made in the Fairview Cemetery in Goff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Apostolic Christian Home or the Nemaha County Home Health & Hospice sent in care of the funeral home. Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha is in charge of arrangements.
